Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said today’s battlefield is that of soft war, warning that the enemies seek to penetrate people’s “strong fortress of faith” and destroy it through spreading uncertainty.
Ayatollah Khamenei, who was making the remarks in an address to a gathering of the country’s Friday prayer leaders, called on them to confront such hostile moves by the ill-wishers, as an important mission, khamenei.ir reported.

In October of last year, the director general of the Iranian Foreign Ministry's Middle East and North Africa Department, Mir-Masoud Hosseinian said, “Efforts to improve relations with Egypt are underway, albeit the process evolves slowly.”
A year has passed since the Iranian official’s statement, and it seems that the process of Tehran-Cairo rapprochement has picked up speed. However, holding open talks between the foreign ministers of the two countries is still a long way away. What matters is that during the past year, the officials of Iran and Egypt have not taken antagonistic positions against each other and instead spoke of their desire to normalize relations. What is more, some media outlets claimed that Iranian and Egyptian delegations have met a number of times and held talks, although it was neither corroborated nor refuted by the authorities.

Iran’s top negotiator Ali Baqeri Kani said Tehran will share its ideas on how to conclude stalled Vienna talks, after the European Union’s foreign policy chief said he had proposed a new draft text to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, knowns as the JCPOA.
In an Op-Ed in the Financial Times on Tuesday, EU’s Josep Borrell, who coordinates the talks, said his “text addresses, in precise detail, the sanctions lifting as well as the nuclear steps needed to restore the JCPOA.”

In a rare diplomatic move, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian spoke over the phone with five counterparts from five Arab countries amid growing Israeli bluster against Iran.
Amir Abdollahian's calls list included the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq. The calls came at a time when Israel continues to drive a wedge between Iran and its Arab neighbors after the recent controversial visit of U.S. President Joe Biden to Israel and Saudi Arabia. While Israel sought to portray the visit as a major step toward normalization with Saudi Arabia and coalition-building against Iran, the Arab countries of the region showed little interest in getting on board.

During the meeting in the Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah, the Leader explored the identity of the Western civilization, noting, “The core of the identity of Western civilization is separation of religion from progress. The Islamic Republic of Iran has invalidated this 200 to 300-year-old claim. The Islamic Republic started with the slogan of religion and it has progressed. This has enraged the West.”
